چکیده

In recent years the study of probabilistic transition systems has shifted to transition relations over distributions to allow for a smooth adaptation of the standard non-probabilistic apparatus. In this paper we study transition relations over probability distributions in a setting with internal actions. We provide new logics that characterize probabilistic strong, weak and branching bisimulation. Because these semantics may be considered too strong in the probabilistic context, Eisentraut et al. recently proposed weak distribution bisimulation. To show the flexibility of our approach based on the framework of van Glabbeek for the non-deterministic setting, we provide a novel logical characterization for the latter probabilistic equivalence as well. 1998 ACM Subject Classification F.3.2 Semantics of Programming Languages, F.4.1 Mathematical Logic

A Spectrum of Behavioral Relations over LTSs on Probability Distributions

Probabilistic nondeterministic processes are commonly modeled as probabilistic LTSs (PLTSs, a.k.a. probabilistic automata). A number of logical characterizations of the main behavioral relations on PLTSs have been studied. In particular, Parma and Segala [2007] define a probabilistic Hennessy-Milner logic interpreted over distributions, whose logical equivalence/preorder when restricted to Dira...

Simulation and Bisimulation for Probabilistic Timed Automata

Probabilistic timed automata are an extension of timed automata with discrete probability distributions. Simulation and bisimulation relations are widely-studied in the context of the analysis of system models, with applications in the stepwise development of systems and in model reduction. In this paper, we study probabilistic timed simulation and bisimulation relations for probabilistic timed...

Game Refinement Relations and Metrics

We consider two-player games played over finite state spaces for an infinite number of rounds. At each state, the players simultaneously choose moves; the moves determine a successor state. It is often advantageous for players to choose probability distributions over moves, rather than single moves. Given a goal (e.g., “reach a target state”), the question of winning is thus a probabilistic one...

Deciding Bisimilarities on Distributions

Probabilistic automata (PA) are a prominent compositional concurrency model. As a way to justify property-preserving abstractions, in the last years, bisimulation relations over probability distributions have been proposed both in the strong and the weak setting. Different to the usual bisimulation relations, which are defined over states, an algorithmic treatment of these relations is inherent...

Logical characterization of probabilistic τ -bisimulation equivalences

Stochastic Petri nets (SPNs) is a well-known model for quantitative analysis. We consider the class called DTWSPNs that is a modification of discrete time SPNs (DTSPNs) by transition labeling and weights. Transitions of DTWSPNs are labeled by actions that represent elementary activities and can be visible or invisible for an external observer. For DTWSPNs, interleaving and step probabilistic τ ...
